Field Mapping with Touch GIS Part 1: Getting started

Lost on where to start? Know these three key features to get up and running on TouchGIS:

The Project Management Screen

Once you’ve made an account and logged in, you’ll see the Project Management screen.

On this screen you’ll be able to kick off new projects, as well as edit and organize already existing projects.

Viewing and editing your Account Details

Tapping on the Account Details button will pull up information about your account.

Here you can change your password and contact support, as well as upgrade your account to use additional features like exporting data and caching offline maps.

Importing Data

If you’ve already started collecting data, use this feature to import that data into Touch GIS. Tap the import button shown below to select the file with the data. For formatting tips, see the supported file formats in the User Guide.

Already have data? Import Data (circled in green) to start a new project.

Creating New Projects

Tap the orange plus icon in the top right corner to start a New Project.

No data yet, or want to start with a clean slate? The New Project feature will allow to you originate a project in the app and start adding data right away.

Once you’ve set up a project or two, you can also edit these projects from the Project Management screen.

Taps the three dots in the lower right corner of a project to open Project Options.

Project Options allows you to share or rename a project, as well as delete a project if necessary.
